Club Cantamar, La Paz, Mexico, Week 1

97•F when we stepped off the plane. Warm breeze. Felt like holiday!!

Taxi (shuttle) to coach station broke down, waited in midday sun at side of road for another cab.....coach from Cabo was excellent!! Bed seats, v wide, nearly long enough for Al ! Snoozed for 3 hour trip to La Paz.

Alberto turned up in the 'shuttle' from Cantamar which was a teeny Fiesta. Me & Al looked at our luggage & each other... Alberto piled it all in & drove us round the corner to the mini bus, phew!!

Skipped diving first day, needed to recover. Lolled around by pool, is that what we’re supposed do on hols? Booked 5 days diving, 3 per day, from the day boat.

Diving day 1 - went to the sea lion colony (Los Isletos) & immediately decided to book an extra week here when we get back off Fiesta liveaboard!!! Would be happy to dive sea lion colony every day. Got some good video snippets. Will hopefully dive it again this week.

One of Al's strobes has broken, so had to get in touch with camerasunderwater to get replacement sent out. Hope it arrives while we're still here.

Underwater visibility disappointing in general & extremely poor on some sites due to unseasonal hurricane last week stirring up the sea bed. Los Islotes by far the best site, could stay there with the sea lions all day every day.
