Back to Club Cantamar for week 3

Back to Cantamar after a week on board Fiesta. Great to lie on a proper bed!!

Strobe for camera still stuck in customs in Mexico City.....so near & yet so far......hotel staff still trying to get through to right person to pay the £20 to get the parcel released!!!!! Asked Sarah to send old strobe out from home for further back up incase this parcel doesn't materialise.

Had enough of diving for now - only because they're the same sites again, visibility isn't great & day boat isn't as comfortable as liveaboard. Can't wait to get to Socorro & be on a boat again!! Had a couple of days in town.

Had a haircut via mime as I could only say 'mas' for 'more' and 'por favour' and 'gracias' & she could only say 'haircut'. Maybe I should have been suspicious when I didn't have to book an apt...she could do it 'a hora' (now!) The result is a bit like the (lack of) style I had between the ages of 10 & 14. I think the hairdresser used to work at the peartree salon in Rugeley. Oh well, it was $13, it's out of my face now & it'll grow back!! Bought a pair of Nike running leggings to wear under shortie to fend off the jellyfish. Couldn't get proper dive trousers thin enough, but these should do the trick.

Learning a little bit more Spanish - Al put the CDs on the ipod before we left. The instructions at the start of the CD say that you should be relaxed, without any distractions, for best absorbsion & good learning environment, so I've been listening to it while lying on our rooftop patio in Mexico, in the afternoon sun, with a warm sea breeze. I've been slightly distracted by the lapping sea, the occasional splash as the pelicans dive for fish and by having to go indoors every now & then for ice cold drinks, but other than that I think it fits the bill as the sort of stress free environment they recommend!!

Used the leggings diving yesterday, superb, no more stings!! Los Islotes again & the sea lions were even more playful than previously – photos of Al with sea lion hat & scarf being uploaded now….
